How to wash tiles and how to give it shine?

It doesn’t matter where the walls and floors are tiled: knowing how to wash the tiles from dirt will be useful for cleaning both the coating in the bathroom and the kitchen apron. Of course, the amount of household cleaning products these days is impressive, and you can use any of them to clean up the tiles. But we will try to figure out whether it is possible to transform the tile so that it shone, exclusively with the help of folk and improvised means.

Tile Removal

Mud

If your tile is covered with stains from cosmetics, soapy scum, or real dirt, then you don’t need any special tools or techniques for cleaning it: it will be enough to simply wipe the surface with a cloth or brush if the pollution is serious. A little effort - and stains and stains will disappear even without the use of cleaning products! If desired, you can use a factory tool or ordinary soap, after which you need to thoroughly rinse the tile.

Also, dirt can be removed with soda, which will act as an abrasive component, and vinegar. Stir the ingredients to a pulp consistency, apply to the contamination for 5 minutes, rub with a cloth and rinse with water to completely clean the tiles from dirt.

Tip

Do not use metal sponges to clean the tiles, even to wipe away old grease stains or plaque, as they will scratch it. It is better to leave the product for contamination for about 10 minutes, and then wipe it with a brush.

Soda and mustard powder

Fat

It is already not so easy to wipe off the fat from the tiles in the kitchen, especially if the spots are old, and you just can’t limit yourself to a regular rag. To wash tiles from fat, powdered improvised products are great: salt, soda, clay or even mustard! And if you mix them with lemon juice or vinegar to the state of gruel and rub the dirt with a brush, then not a single greasy stain will remain in your kitchen.

Tip

The fat from the tiles in the kitchen can also be removed with a cloth moistened with alcohol or vodka. They will also be useful for cleaning tiles in the bathroom: alcohol can be used as an express method to give shine to tiles.

Wipe tiles from limescale

Limescale

The harder the water in your water supply, the faster condensation will form. It is he who spoils the look of the kitchen, dirtying sinks from stainless steel, and tiles in the bathroom, causing the housewives to be upset, because the coating forms quite quickly, and not many people know how to clean the tiles from it.

In this case, we can confidently say that folk remedies will help faster and more efficiently than store ones, and this miracle recipe will cost a penny: all you need is vinegar or ammonia. Dilute one of these substances in water in a ratio of 1: 3 and wipe the tile with a sponge moistened with a solution. If the thickness of the coating is so large that it is impossible to get rid of it with a simple wipe, enlist the support of a brush or a hard (but not metal) dishwashing sponge.

Tip

Do not forget that both vinegar and ammonia are quite aggressive substances, you need to use caution when using them: use gloves to protect the skin from negative effects, avoid contact with skin and eyes, and thoroughly ventilate the room after cleaning with their participation.

Mold in the joints between the tiles

Mold

So that mold and fungus do not form in the seams between the tiles, you need to periodically wipe them with a cloth soaked in vinegar. If the fungus has already settled on the grout, expelling it using non-mechanical means will be problematic: most likely, you will have to remove the areas with mold and grind the seams again.

Tip

Although mold and fungus are difficult to get rid of, they can be masked using White. This method is ideal for white grout. If the seams of your coating are of a different color, try White on an inconspicuous area before using the product.

Glitter tile

Shine

If you want the tile to shine, then regularly wash it both in the bathroom and in the kitchen, avoiding the frequent formation of limescale, grease and mold. Timely cleaning will allow you to enjoy the shine for a long time, and prevention, as you know, is often more effective than treatment.

If, however, it begins to seem to you that even after washing, the tile no longer shines as before, then the best way to restore the attractiveness and freshness of the tile is a wax polish, which also protects the surface from limescale. You can polish only clean and dry tiles, and before using the product, you must read the instructions.

The main reason for the loss of gloss is still the formation of condensate, which appears when the droplet on the wall evaporates, and the salt coating remains on the coating. That is why it is so important to wipe the tile with a suede or other non-stain cloth after each bath, no matter how trivial it may seem. So you can greatly delay the final cleaning in the bathroom and save a lot of time and effort.

I watched a video clip on how to wash tiles. People, you are serious. What ammonia, and its vapors, and where this water flows down into the sewer, and then into the rivers, and then into the underground waters and back to our faucet. With ammonia and all surfactants. On the street is the 21st century, the century of informatization - the best means - environmentally friendly, not tested on animals, launders not only fat, in bathroom toilet deposits, safe for others. I tried everything until I got bronchial asthma. And after much trial and error I found what launders and is safe for me. These are Amway home cleaning products. Of course, there are other companies, but this one came up to me. You pour water after washing the floors with a detergent, but I do not, I water the pot, because it is organic and it serves as food for plants, not destruction. You pour a pot of water with ammonia and what will happen? Look for environmentally friendly products.
