When carrying out industrial work, the owners rarely think about preventing pollution from getting on the floor, and it is not so simple to provide reliable protection to surfaces. Therefore, the question often arises of how to wash the laminate after repair, than to process the coating in order to restore its former attractiveness.

You can of course just wash the laminate with clean water for several days, but stains, grains of sand, roughness and even spots will still remain (and the capricious material will begin to change over time). To get the desired effect, you will have to try a lot, but the final result will definitely be worth it.

Features of the preparatory phase

Even before starting repairs, at least a minimum of protective manipulations should be carried out, which implies covering the entire floor area with polyethylene. The traditional version with newspapers is best taken away. They not only will not protect against building dust or drops of various compositions, but they can also shed themselves, covering the laminate with black stains.

After all work is completed, you must do the following:

• We carefully sweep the floor several times, removing large pieces of debris and building dust.
• If dried spots of cement, paint, alabaster, plaster and other materials are present on the surface, carefully scrape off most of them, if possible, with a small spatula. Wet the residues liberally with water using a soft sponge.
• We take a broom dipped in water without detergents and carefully sweep away all particles of dirt, working from the corners to the center of the room.

Tip: The lower the quality of the laminate, the more carefully you need to be careful about cleaning it. While expensive materials can withstand even aggressive exposure options, a product of not the highest quality can swell and mutate as a result of inaccurate wet cleaning.

• Next, wash the floor with a rag using plenty of water. But this does not mean that puddles should remain on the surface, we immediately remove excess liquid.
• We change the water and this time we add detergent to it (profile or any that does not give too much foam).
• Repeat the procedure several times, regularly changing the water.

If the laminate has not been stained with solidifying industrial products, this may be sufficient. But most often it is necessary to apply compositions of a more intense action.

Effective tools and rules for their use

Lime and gypsum dust, like other stains from building materials, today are not an irreparable situation. There are several simple but effective ways to clean the floor after repairs:

• Vegetable oil. Allows you to remove even the smallest traces of building dust. In a bowl of clean warm water, add a few tablespoons of vegetable oil and the resulting composition to my room. Then we change the capacity and prepare a solution of cool water and a few tablespoons of vinegar. Once again, wash the room, wait until the laminate dries. After that, I wash my room again, now clean water.
• Salt. A universal remedy for most construction pollution. First, wash the floor with warm water with the addition of any detergent, and then prepare a solution of cool water and half a glass of table salt. After applying the composition, wash my room with clean water.
• Potassium permanganate. Another reliable option to deal with traces of building dust.We dilute the pharmacy product in slightly warm water, the liquid should acquire a bright pink color. • Domestos and its analogues. It is important not to overexpose the product on a sensitive surface. Dilute the active ingredient in water according to instructions. It is recommended to re-read the label several times to make sure that the composition is not forbidden to use for cleaning the laminate.
• Profile tools. Today, hardware stores offer many products specifically designed for mopping. They can be safely used to process the laminate after repair. Exactly the same result can be expected from the use of liquids designed for cleaning glass. The floor after this will be not only clean, but also sparkling.
• If the coating is contaminated with gypsum or lime dust, paint or asbestos, it is better not to experiment with various solvents, but to visit a hardware store. The specialist will advise which product in which case will better cope with the problem.

It is worth considering that the cleaning efficiency will increase if you do not use ordinary fabric to process the floor, but microfiber cloths or rags. After the desired result is achieved, it is recommended to pay increased attention to the processing of the laminate for several weeks. It is strictly forbidden to use formulations with acids to clean it. A daily dry cleaning with an ordinary vacuum cleaner with the appropriate nozzle is enough.

Every three days, wipe the floor with microfiber with a minimum amount of water. During each 3-4 wet cleaning we apply a profile product. If it seems that the surface has faded, during wet cleaning you can add 1-2 tablespoons of white vinegar to the water.
