Clothing made from natural fabrics rapidly stretches with regular wear, losing its original appearance and clear shape. Before you go to the studio for a correction or throw away your favorite product, you should familiarize yourself with recommendations on how to wash a thing so that it sits down. This technique has established itself as a quick and effective way to solve problems.

If you do everything right, you can count on a positive result after the first approach. Simple manipulations can restore your favorite sweater, which has become dimensionless, a sweatshirt in some areas of a sweater, a hat that has lost elasticity and even a delicate silk blouse.

It is worth considering that if trouble happened with synthetic fabric, then it will be possible to restore it only if there are natural fibers in the composition of matter. However, only mixed synthetics can stretch and lose their shape.

How to make a thing from wool sit down?

When restoring wool products, you need to read the instructions for washing them and do the opposite. Only you need to act carefully, without going to extremes.

To minimize the risks of pori product, it is recommended to work according to the following scheme:

• First, soak the affected sweater or hat in hot water. The duration of the stage should not be more than half an hour. The temperature of the liquid is set approximately 20 degrees higher than that indicated on the tag.
• After a specified time, with a rinse of wool, using very cold water, you can even add several pieces of ice to the liquid. A properly organized temperature difference will manage to do a significant part of the work.
• Wash the washed wool in a dry and warm terry towel. We remove excess moisture with wetting movements. Twisting woolen items is highly discouraged, especially a sweater, dress or sweater.
• Next, the clothes are dried. On a dense horizontal surface without a visible relief we lay a hygroscopic fabric. We spread a sweater or other product on top. It is advisable to send artificial heat to the wool, then the shrinkage will be more dense. During drying, the object must be shaped with its hands, regularly adjusting the matter so that it does not stretch.

Tip: It is better to pull a woolen hat over an inverted salad bowl or vase with a round, smooth bottom of a suitable size.

Machine washing also causes severe shrinkage, but it is very difficult to control the process. In extreme cases, the stretched sweater can be driven away in a special mode for wool or hand washing, but the result can be unpredictable.

How to plant cotton at home?

Practice shows that a cotton T-shirt stretches even faster than a wool sweater. But in this case, there is the opportunity to adjust the shape of the thing. It should be noted that when working with cotton, restoration is possible only if the clothes were sewn correctly. If the threads are located and directed incorrectly, then nothing will be done.

Cotton products give maximum shrinkage in the following cases:

1. Machine wash that uses a mode with very hot water and maximum spin.
2. The product can simply be dipped in boiling water. True, even a short stay of a colored product in such hot water can provoke its molting.But only five minutes of processing will reduce the thing by size, a quarter of an hour in boiling water and clothes will become 1.5-2 sizes smaller.
3. If you do not want to risk the color of a thing, then it is better to wash it in the traditional way, and then place it in an electric dryer.

We evaluate the result on a completely dry product. If it was not possible to do anything the first time, you should not even try it anymore. Effective methods for influencing denim, silk and synthetics

Work with denim is carried out only if it contains cotton. In this case, all responsibility for the result again lies with hot water. The product is soaked in a liquid whose temperature should not exceed 60 ° C, otherwise the color of the matter will begin to be washed out. After the water has cooled, we wash the products as usual, we try to rub to a minimum. Then we wring out the pants with a terry towel and lay it out to dry. At the same time, parts of the product should not be pulled. In an upright position, we dry the jeans only if you need to keep their length, reducing the volume.

To reduce the size of the silk product, it is enough to hold it in warm water, the temperature of which will be the maximum allowable limits. After which the thing is dried naturally.

Polyester and nylon will sit noticeably if you just wash them in cold water. Dry them better in the washing machine, at high speeds. Otherwise, the product will have to be dried directly on the battery.

Products made of acrylic, spandex and lycra cannot be reduced by chemical or physical effects. Their size can only be changed by altering the subject. But if such materials are stretched, then it will be very difficult to restore the original shape of the product.
