And it is good if the spots from it will be easy to remove. Dry cleaning may help, but it's not always convenient. Moreover, the result of the master is often not guaranteed, especially if the product has decorative elements.

Can I machine wash?

If you need to tidy your wedding outfit at home, you need to remember the basic rule: fresh stains are easier to remove than old ones. Next, determine the nature of the pollution. In the case when the lower part of the hem has suffered a little, it should be cleaned. With more extensive spots, you will have to wash the entire dress.

Some outfits can be cleaned at home in the washing machine. It depends on the material. For example, this method is suitable for things made of polyester. The product must be placed in a special laundry bag or, if not, in a pillowcase. The temperature is set to thirty degrees, the mode is delicate or manual. Washing powder is also best used for delicate fabrics. An additional rinse is advisable. But if the dress has jewelry, then you can’t wash it like that.

How to wash the dress with your own hands?

Manually cleaning the formal attire at home is not easy due to the fact that it is very heavy when wet. But still it is possible.

• If only the hem is stained, then it should be soaked for several hours in water with detergent. Then gently wipe off any dirt with a soft brush and rinse.
• In order to bring the entire dress back to normal, fill the bathtub with cool water, pour powder into it and put the thing in it. For some time, you need to leave the product to soak the stains. Then walk carefully along its surface with a soft brush or sponge, paying special attention to the most polluted places. Then it must be rinsed. To do this, hang the outfit on a coat hanger to stack a soap solution. Water in the bath is changed to clean. Immerse the dress, hang it again and pour fresh water. This is repeated several times until completely clean.
• Another way to clean a festive dress at home is to hang it on your shoulders and pour it from the shower so that it gets wet properly. Then gently wipe the entire surface with a soap brush. Particularly careful handling is necessary with the corsage so that it does not deform. Wash the detergent from top to bottom.

Drying and ironing

So that the wedding dress does not lose its solemn appearance, it should be properly dried. Do not do this in direct sunlight or on a battery so that the fabric does not turn yellow. Machine drying at home is also not suitable, since there is a high probability of damage and deformation of the material. Better leave it in a dark room. At the same time, an outfit made of synthetics can be hung on the shoulders, carefully straightened. But the cotton product must be dried in a horizontal form, spread out on a terry towel, which will absorb moisture. After washing the outfit at home, you need to iron it. You need to know what material the thing is made of in order to choose the appropriate temperature regime.There should be no water in the iron; it may leave marks on a white cloth.

Start ironing with the bodice and sleeves, conveniently placing them on the ironing board. It is more difficult to iron a skirt at home. This is done either simply on the board, if it is large, or by hanging the dress on the shoulders so that the skirt comfortably fits in place for ironing. In cases where the product is decorated with rhinestones, chains, lace, it is ironed from the inside out, laying a terry towel. If there is no decor, then you can do it from the outside.
