How to wash a faux fur product at home?

Faux fur among modern consumers is often in greater demand than natural. And the price of products from it is less, and from the point of view of humanity to animals, the conscience of the owners of such things is clean. And synthetics are somewhat easier to care for. But here not in any dry cleaning undertake to clean fur synthetics. Is it possible to wash faux fur at home?

In a modern (high-tech) automatic washing machine, clothes and other fur synthetics are washed with extreme care - and only making sure that the textile-adhesive base can withstand such a load (to check this, you need to test the detergent by treating a small area from the inside of the fur and waiting for some time - neither the pile nor the textile base should be damaged).

If washing is acceptable, then it must be carried out in the most delicate machine mode, without the spin option. To do this, observe the following rules:

• Before washing a thing, we study its label, which indicates the permissible manipulations when leaving and the temperature regime of washing.
• Select the delicate wash function at minimum temperature, turn off the spin.
• If the synthetic product is moderately soiled, the machine can be set to the soaking mode for half an hour, and then turn on a delicate rinse, without even starting the wash for a full cycle.
• In advanced cases, it is first required to soak the synthetic fur in warm (up to 45 degrees) slightly soapy water for the same half hour.
• It is useful to wipe the fur of light colors before laying it in the drum with vinegar, lemon juice or peroxide - this will slightly whiten it.
• We erase the product (and this, most likely, will be a voluminous fur coat or short fur coat with a short thick fur, which is rather problematic to manually remove) without the presence of any other things in the drum.
• For greater delicacy, we put the thing in a protective net.
• Add only liquid detergents used for wool.
• We rinse several times to rinse out the remaining foam.
• At the end of the cycle, we take out the thing and wring it out gently, gently pressing it with our fingers. Smooth the fur with your hands, as if combing it, and send your favorite fur coat to dry in the bathroom, hanging on strong shoulders. As soon as the water stops dripping from it, if desired, we transfer it to fresh air, in the shade.

After the final drying, the thing must be combed thoroughly using a brush with soft bristles, laying the hairs in the desired position.

Do not soak the fur synthetics in the washing liquid for longer than 25 - 30 minutes: “chemistry”, even delicate, can spoil the fibers and discolor.

Hand wash items made of fur synthetics

Hand wash at home is indicated if the product is long-hairy and too fluffy. For this, first of all, you need a suitable container. A small thing - a hat, an edge of a collar - is easy to soak in a basin. But for washing the overall items of the wardrobe, you will have to take a bath.

How to wash products by hand?

1. Fill the container with warm water (not higher than 40 degrees), thoroughly dissolve the detergent in it.
2. After making sure that the fur and textile base are well wet, leave the product soaked for about half an hour.
3. This is followed by a warm rinse, allowing you to wash off the main part of the detergent.
4. The next rinse is cold, it should finally wash off the remnants of soap, and also give the pile a certain shine.At this stage, you can add a little citric acid or vinegar to the water - they will help the fur smooth out and sparkle.

Instead of liquid detergent, powder can be used. But before soaking things, make sure that all the grains are completely dissolved.

If it is possible to do without completely washing the entire product (especially if it is a long artificial fur coat or a large plaid), it is better to do so only by wiping off any particular dirt with a sponge dampened in soapy water.

Never dry faux fur near heating appliances and in the open sun. From this, it can become hard, deform, and light, among other things, turn yellow. A centrifuge or dryer is also not suitable for this purpose.

Pre-cleaning fur synthetics

If the product is very dirty, has spots, traces of grease, greasy spots, then before you wash it, you need to process these spots. There is one caveat: the more the stain is old, the less likely it is to remove it.

What and what is displayed?

• In the area of ​​the collar zone and cuffs, clothing is often contaminated with traces of sweat. They can be removed with a mixture from a teaspoon of refined gasoline or pure alcohol and starch (it is better to take potato), applying the resulting slurry to greasy areas for about 10 minutes. After that, the remaining mixture is combed out with a dry brush.
• Stains from dirt, paints, juice are removed using a soap solution, which is also applied for 8-10 minutes.
• Local pollution is well removed by a mixture of salt, ammonia and water. It is not necessary to remove this mixture before washing.
• You can try to reduce local pollution with hair shampoo or soda solution.
• Stains from lipstick, blood, foundation are removed with a foaming liquid stain remover.
• If it is not possible to wash an object from a short faux fur of high density, ordinary semolina, starch, ground oatmeal or corn flour will help to clean it. They remove dirt, refresh and do not leave stains on things.

In order to have such clothes less often to wash, it is necessary to properly care for them: store them in a closet on their shoulders in special covers, regularly airing the closet. Try to protect the coat from contact with cigarette smoke, chemicals, dyes. Protect it from getting wet: in the process of drying out (especially if the thing has dried, being worn, in the center of a noisy city) it attracts dirt more.

So, washing faux fur at home is a delicate and responsible process. But if you act carefully, following all the recommendations above, you can cope with this task with dignity, returning your favorite product an attractive look.
