Can I wash the bath mat in the washing machine?

The rug in the bathroom is constantly in contact with moisture. To keep it attractive, you need to properly care for it. More complex procedures will be required to care for fabric or combination materials, and such products need to be cleaned regularly. Many of them can be machine washed in compliance with certain rules.

Washing features

Caring for rugs designed for the bathroom should be regular. It is recommended to wash them weekly, otherwise a fungus may settle on them.

Features of washing depend on the type of material. Most often, bath mats made of PVC, microfiber, fabric or rubber are sold. Sometimes they are with a thick pile - it is most difficult to care for such products.

When machine washing, it is important to set the gentle, shortest mode. Best of all is Delicate Wash or Hand Wash. The temperature should be 30–40 ° C. Spin and drying are not recommended, especially for rugs with a rubber base.

There are also some washing features for different materials:

• Rubber mat can be washed only at a temperature of 30 ° C. It is impossible to set the spin and drying mode.
• Synthetic mats it is allowed to wash at temperatures up to 60 ° C. The powder can be used any suitable for the type of fabric, but put a double rinse.

It is best to wash the bath mats with your hands. If you do this regularly, they can easily be washed off and retain their color and shape.

• Rubber mats wash in a bathtub, typing a little warm water and adding detergent. Brush medium hardness. If mold has formed on the rubber, you can use chlorine bleach.Rinse the rug better in the shower. Then you need to wipe with a dry rag and dry naturally.
• PVC or microfiber products it is better to clean with a brush dipped in soapy water. You can remove the foam with a wet towel. Then blot the mat with a dry cloth and dry well. Such rugs are dried, rolled up and laid with towels.
• Long pile rug soak for 10-15 minutes in a warm soapy solution. If there are spots, you can walk a little on it with a brush. Rinse under running water, then let it drain. Blot the product with a towel and hang it in the air to dry.
