Is it convenient to store shoes in organizers?

There are never too many shoes. Sneakers and dress shoes, fashionable high-heeled boots and rubber boots for wet weather, slates and sandals ... You can list endlessly - but all this wealth must be stored somewhere. The organizer for shoes will allow you to properly plan the space and make living in the apartment more comfortable.

Shoe organizers

How is the shoe organizer designed?

Under the fashionable name "organizer" is a simple and ergonomic device for storing shoes. Such devices are drawers, shelves and hanging devices placed on the wall or on the floor in the hallway, hidden under the bed, inside the sofa, cabinet, that is, where there is unused space.

The organizer can be bought at the store or made with your own hands. By design, these household items are divided into two types:

  • floor - a box with cells, which is installed on a flat surface;
  • hanging - suspended in the hallway, pantry or linen closet.

Organizers made of fabric are primarily intended for storing light and soft shoes: ballet shoes, flip flops, sneakers, sneakers, moccasins, sandals.

Soft shoe organizer

Expensive leather shoes and boots are best placed in a box with hard dividers. So that the skin does not jam, such shoes should not be laid very closely or stored on their sides.

Basically, all cells in industrial wardrobe trunks have the same dimensions and are designed for shoes of approximately the same size. For storage of winter boots, devices with large cells are suitable, and sandals and slippers can be stored more compactly, in trunks with small pockets or compartments.

Pros and cons of storing shoes in the organizer

Organizer for shoes - a necessary and useful device that helps to economically use every piece of free space. Having such a device, you don’t have to rummage for hours in a heap of shoes in search of the right pair, since everything will be neatly folded in a certain place.

Women's shoes in the organizer

Storing shoes in organizers has several advantages:

  • Saves the space of the apartment. A fabric case designed for storing 12 pairs of boots takes up a small volume - 75x59x15cm. In addition, the wardrobe trunks have rigid ribs and can be stacked on top of each other, saving vertical space. When there is no need for storage, the fabric organizer can be folded and put away in a closet.
  • Allows you to quickly find the right pair. Many models are equipped with soft transparent zippered covers. Thanks to this device, you don’t have to wonder where these or those shoes are, as the contents of the case are clearly visible through the cover.
  • Shoes of the same type are stored in the same place.
  • Careful storage. Closed-type construction made of breathable materials protects shoes from dust settling and moisture penetration. The main thing is that before you put in the organizer, thoroughly wash and dry your shoes, and you can not remember about them until the new season.

These products have their drawbacks:

  • Not suitable for all types of shoes. High-booted boots should be stored differently - in a long box or by weight.
  • Fabric wardrobe trunks, although they have stiffeners, still remain soft and supple. Having put several organizers, filled to capacity, on top of each other, you can see how the bottom will bend and crumple, and the shoes will pile up.

Everyone judges the utility of such an acquisition in their own way.If a person lives alone and costs two or three pairs of shoes, of course, the organizer simply does not need him. For a family of several people this accessory is necessary, as it will help optimize the space and keep things in order.

Hanging shoe organizer

How to make a hanging organizer?

Those who know how to sew at least a little can make a hanging shoe organizer with their own hands. An exclusive product will pleasantly refresh the interior and at the same time optimize the space. Externally, this accessory resembles a wall mat with numerous pockets, which will house slippers, slates, ballet shoes and other soft shoes.

To make a hanging organizer that can be hung from the back of the door in the hallway or closet, you need to prepare the following materials:

  • A piece of dense canvas for the base of the product. The size of the flap is selected in accordance with the desired dimensions of the product and add 3 cm on each side to the hem.
  • A cut of any elastic material. It can be knitwear, polyester, elastane - the main thing is that the fabric stretches.
  • A machine, scissors, thread, crayon - all that is needed for sewing. If there is no sewing machine, you can do the work manually, however, it will take much more time.

The manufacturing process of a suspended organizer consists of several stages:

  1. The canvas fabric, which forms the basis of the product, is bent on all sides and sewed on a typewriter. This is necessary so that the product does not tear during operation.
  2. Rectangular pockets are cut from a knitted fabric. The size of the part should correspond to the width and length of the product that you plan to store. If we are talking about slippers, the optimal width of the pocket is 12-15 cm. To keep the shoes firmly and not fall out, the height of the pocket should be at least 2/3 of the length of the slipper - this is about 20-25 cm. Thus, the size of the finished pocket - 15x20 cm. To these figures you need to add another 1 cm to the hem.
  3. How to place pockets on the canvas is up to the manufacturer. It is possible in a row or diagonally, it is not necessary to adhere to strict rules.
  4. Before stitching the pocket to the canvas, it must be processed so that the material does not crumble. For this, the edges of the part are wrapped on a typewriter or processed using an overlock.
  5. Three sides of the pocket are attached to the base of the product according to the previously applied marking.
  6. A loop is made from thick braid or material residues.

The original device for storing soft and light shoes is ready. It remains only to suspend the structure in a convenient place and use it for its intended purpose.

A self-made organizer can not only serve for personal use, but can also be an excellent gift, which fashionistas will surely be delighted with in their wardrobe more than a dozen pairs of shoes.
