How to clean the print head and nozzles of the HP printer?

Different manufacturing technologies entail many problems for those who purchase equipment - ordinary buyers. Each of us buys something, wanting to make our daily lives easier, but this does not always work out: for example, not everyone knows how to clean an HP printer. Meanwhile, every printer owner of any company should know how to clean this device in order to prevent any troubles and malfunctions.

Cleaning the printer using software

Cleaning the printer using software

Before describing how to manually clean an hp printer, it’s worth recalling such a great opportunity given by a Taiwanese manufacturer as cleaning using software preinstalled on a computer. Typically, when you purchase a printer comes with a disk with programs, drivers, and useful reference information. The software offered for installation by the disc, the HP Solution Center, can help clean the printer. It is very simple: just run the program, and then find in the menu "Printer Toolbar", and there - the utility "cleaning cartridges". If the printer has not been dealt with for a long time, you can do this procedure several times. But, unfortunately, software cleaning is not always enough - if only because it does not affect the nozzle of the print head, and in such cases the owners have no choice but to try to clean the print head in particular with the hands of the printer in general.

Cleaning with a special fluid

Entrusting the cleaning of the print head is, of course, the safest way for specialists. But this does not mean at all that you can’t try to do this procedure yourself, in order to save time and money.

So, the following items are required to clean the print head of your HP printer:

  • a plastic container with a flat bottom, which will not be a pity to throw away (disposable plates or containers for food);
  • dense, well-absorbing rag or gauze;
  • a specialized kit for cleaning the printer (it can be purchased both in electronics stores on the Internet, and by looking in offline stores) of varying degrees of action: for old dirt - aggressive, for cleaner heads - normal.

The cleaning process itself, however, does not depend on the degree of contamination of the print head. It all starts with the fact that the service fluid is poured into a plastic container prepared in advance, and then this capacity is set aside. A piece of rag or gauze comes into effect - it is wetted with water, and the bottom area of the print head is rubbed with this piece. The next piece is already wetted with a special liquid, and then the entire print head is rubbed with it along the nozzle contour. If required, a piece of gauze can be changed by dipping a new one in the liquid.

Attention!

You need to be careful and try not to touch the nozzles themselves with a cloth. Contact with contaminated liquids may result in clogging.

Head cleaning can continue for as long as it takes to completely clean each object - it all depends on the initial state. In any case, after cleaning the head with gauze, the ink rubber bands are removed from it. Rinse them simply with warm running water, and then return them to their place. After that, the most complex and most important action begins: directly cleaning the print head, but already from the inside.In addition to the head, by the way, the printer nozzles are also cleaned. To do this, gauze or a rag is placed under it, and the service fluid is heated to approximately 55 degrees Celsius. Then, with a special syringe, the heated liquid is dripped onto the ink nozzles until ink remains on the gauze located under the head. If necessary, the gauze is replaced, and when the rag remains clean, it can be assumed that the cleaning of the HP printer is completed. Not so scary, right?

Daily printer cleaning

Above, we described what to do with cartridges and the print head. But do not forget also that the printing device does not need to be launched in everyday life - at least once a week it is worth wiping it with a slightly damp (if there is a lot of dust in the room) or dry cloth to avoid excessive dusting. In addition, sometimes for preventive purposes, we recommend performing the cartridge cleaning procedure, which was described at the beginning of the article. This will help keep the printer running for a long time. Yes, in addition, this procedure allows you to keep clean and CISS. But it is not a panacea: once a year it is still necessary to carry out a full cleaning of the print head of the printer and its nozzles.

Continuous Ink Cleaning

Continuous Ink Cartridge Cleaning

Some owners, in order to save money and not to buy cartridges, purchase a special device consisting of four permanent cartridges that cannot be replaced, and a small ink tank. Be sure to clean this mechanism so that the printer nozzles do not dry out. In order to clean the CISS (this is the abbreviation for this device, its full name is in the subtitle), it is necessary to purchase cleaning liquid and rinse all tubes, tanks and cartridges with it. It is necessary to empty the tank of ink, rinse the holes with water, and then drive the service fluid in the same way as the ink when refilling them. By the way, cartridges for HP printers are expensive, and therefore the demand for CISS for these printers is very high.

So, cleaning an HP printer is a business that only seems hard at first glance. If you approach him with due responsibility, diligence and accuracy, everything will work out, and the task - to clean the HP printer - will be solved with ease. The main thing is not to forget that any equipment requires care: everything in our homes works only in order to make life easier for us, and we can only help the equipment to serve for as long as possible. Good luck
