Is it possible to wash the multicooker under the tap completely?

Household appliances in which food is cooked are subject to contamination - fat, cinder settles on them, and product residues stick. Is it possible to wash the multicooker completely under the tap? The idea is attractive at first glance, because cleaning with a damp cloth and rags is a rather laborious and lengthy process. The device must be reliably protected from moisture: if you can cook soup in it, then you can wash it under the tap? So many housewives think, and they are mistaken. Water entering the housing can cause damage!

Dialog for washing a multicooker under the tap

Why not?

A heating element is hidden inside the multicooker. Thanks to him, the device heats up to the desired temperature. And the whole core is literally dotted with microcircuits that provide a choice of cooking programs. The display is an electronic panel with many contacts.

The ingress of water under the body of the multicooker can provoke:

  • spoiling contacts;
  • short circuit.

The electrical part is only conditionally protected from moisture. There is a removable bowl for water and food. Neither liquid nor solid products should get into the rest of the multicooker. The appliance must not be washed with water, dipped, or poured. It’s like washing the TV, hairdryer, smartphone.

If the crock-pot has already been under the tap, turn it upside down as soon as possible and let the water drain. It should dry under natural conditions in a well-ventilated area. Then there is a chance that after 6-8 hours the device will work again.

How to wash a slow cooker?

To clean the appliance, you need to wait until it cools down after cooking. Be sure to unplug it! Next, you need to disassemble the crock-pot: remove the bowl, disconnect the lid, remove the steam valve.

  1. The bowl can be washed under the tap using liquid detergents and a non-rigid sponge. It is important not to use abrasive substances if the bowl has a teflon coating. Pour warm water and add detergent for dishes, froth the solution and leave for 20 minutes. After this, the thicket is easily washed away from fat and burned-out food.
  2. Rinse the steam valve under running water. If the valve is clogged, the food will run away.
  3. To detach the multicooker cover, read the instructions. Wash the lid under the tap with dishwashing detergent. If grease or stains remain, use a cleaning agent or baking soda. To remove unpleasant odors, wipe the surface with 9% vinegar.
  4. To clean the space under the bowl, use a sponge and a detergent for the stove. First, pick up the crumbs with a damp cloth. Then apply the anti-carbon remedy for 3-5 minutes. Wipe the bottom with a clean, damp cloth and wipe dry with a paper towel.
  5. Wash the outside with a damp cloth or cloth. The use of cleaning and detergents is allowed.
  6. Wait until the appliance has completely dried to turn it back on.

If the crock-pot is very dirty, then you should disconnect the electronic "stuffing" from the body. After that, plastic parts can be soaked quietly, treated with chemicals, washed under the tap.

A crock-pot, like any other electric appliance, cannot be completely washed under the tap. This will damage your contacts. And if after washing immediately plug it into the network, there will be a short circuit. The assistant is cleaned exclusively with damp cloths and napkins, and washing under running water can only be done with a removable bowl, valve and lid. The inside must be cleaned immediately after each cooking. Then the slow cooker will remain clean for a long time and will not require drastic measures!
