Not every washing machine can tidy up athletic shoes. But there is an alternative - craftsmen say that you can wash sneakers in the dishwasher. This method seems strange, but actually very convenient.

Which dishwashers can be washed?

Not every dishwasher is suitable for washing. Make sure your model has:

• low temperature mode;
• drying without heating;
• filters on the drain of the drainage system.

If the drying mode is turned off, this is ideal, because shoes that have dried on their own will last longer.

We add detergents in the usual amount for a dishwasher. But keep in mind: the more alkali the detergent contains, the more it will harm shoes, especially leather. After the aggressive action of the alkaline environment, the sneakers will dry out and become completely unusable.

We set the minimum temperature regime - ideally this is 30–40 ^aboutC - and turn on the wash.

What to do after washing shoes?

1. Take out the filter of the dishwasher and clean it, then reinsert it.
2. Start a dishwashing cycle with an empty dishwasher to rinse and sanitize it.

Remove and wipe the sneakers. In some cases, the dishwasher may leave streaks of detergent, as well as adhering debris, which can only be removed manually.

Some housewives, in order to avoid the appearance of stains on dishes, add a slice of lemon when laying, with a peel. This advice is also suitable for washing sneakers.

Do not forget that only high-quality shoes can be washed in the dishwasher. Sneakers from a dubious manufacturer are unlikely to survive after such a procedure. The dishwasher, of course, will wash away all the dirt, but at the same time it will dissolve the bad shoe glue. Shoes will have to be obtained in parts.

Such washing is contraindicated for shoes, but rubber shoes - boots, slippers, flip flops will calmly transfer it. After such a swim, they will look like new. A dishwasher can save a hostess a lot of time if you approach the matter with imagination.
